New Orleans firebrand La Reezy delivers his latest single, “Family Bizzy,” now available to stream on all digital platforms. Listen HERE. The powerful new anthem is taken from his upcoming debut studio album, Skiddle Bandana, which he recently announced to his growing fanbase of loyal supporters. The new LP, due July 7, is primed for widespread acclaim and will feature the VICE-approved “Melanate It,” as well as May’s jazz-tinged single “How Did You Love Me.”
La Reezy, who is widely regarded as one of hip-hop’s most promising prospects, continues to elevate his momentum towards the release of his debut album. “Family Bizzy” falls right in line with the distinctive sound the fresh-faced rapper has carved out for himself. The song tells the story of how the people who depended on him became the very reason La Reezy never gave up. Instead of shying away from that weighted responsibility, he leaned into it and took ownership of the outcome.
At a time when independence has become a buzzword, “Family Bizzy” reminds listeners that true independence is often built collectively. More than a nostalgic reflection, the song serves as a celebration of Black family infrastructure: the generations of relatives whose love, labor, skills, and sacrifices often become the foundation for success. For La Reezy, family goes beyond a support system, becoming a business, a creative collective, and a source of identity.
Throughout Skiddle Bandana, Reezy continues to explore themes of family, relationships, grief, loyalty, and Southern identity with the same level of care and intentionality. Drawing from jazz, soul, trap, and the sounds of New Orleans, the album expands those personal stories into something larger; rather, a reflection of community, heritage, and the experiences that connect people across generations. Pre-save/order Skiddle Bandana HERE.
After a breakout 2025 anchored by La Reezy receiving the “Next Up” Award from The Hip Hop Museum, the young artist consummated his rise even further after being selected for the 2026 On The Radar Cypher Class, standing tall alongside TDE’s Ray Vaughn, Ben Reilly, Chris Patrick, and more who were also a part of the cypher.
