Country-rap sensation Jamie Ray has released his booming new single, ‘Monyun.’ The new record, an ode to his quest for riches and Ray’s third single this year, is available now.
“Monyun” takes Ray’s trademark sound, characterized by a seamless fusion of country-inspired acoustics and a trap-leaning cadence of 808s, and funnels it into a straightforward mission statement: being a high-earner is nonnegotiable. The new record, produced by TKTK, follows Ray’s single from earlier this year, which also utilized a slang term for money, ‘Chicken.’ There’s only one thing on Jamie Ray’s mind these days, and the sharpness of his recent release suggests that he’s more than just thinking about elevating – he’s channeling that energy into recording.
Ray has been building consistently towards his next release after a banner year in 2025 produced two EPs, SIXER and SIXER 2, that established the rapper-singer as a formidable presence that has ranged far past the viral moments that initially placed him on the map. Prior to ‘Chicken,’ Ray began the year with ‘Catch A Bag’—he’s really about his money—which earned ‘Best Country-Rap Crossover’ acknowledgement from REVOLT upon release. When it comes to the country-rap subgenre, Jamie Ray is comfortably a leader in the space, and has many more tricks up his sleeve.
