Obey The Altar Native – Heavy 3rd Eyelid

The dynamic duo is back with yet another project to get your head nodding, then later scratching your head on some, “What the hell did I just listen to?”

Obey The Altar Native brings you “The Dragon Whisperer”, an album with all rhyme, no reason. Never a crew to follow conventional standards or trends, they continue to pave their own lane. Hailing from New York, Denone (on production) takes a detour from his smooth boom-bap roots and shares production credit with a myriad of instrumentalists from around the world. Talented artists such as @MicPhyzics,@Hondofelder,@Them_various_fruits,@Fr1th,@Shirofujikoa @Nairb, and @Dnastonthebeat throw in their 6 cents and take the production to another world.

Obey, (the poet) from Wisconsin, welcomes the new musical challenge and uses that palette as a means to paint vivid pictures of how he views the world. Sometimes humorous, oftentimes thought-provoking and always witty, Obey’s word placement is as meaningful and potent as they have ever been.
Both Obey and Denone have day jobs to feed their families but in their free time, they get loose and create dope music. Now based out of Tucson and Buckeye, Arizona (respectively), the artists continue to push the envelope and offer an alternative sound and structure to the Hip-Hop culture.

From beginning to end, this album is a journey outside of the trendy conventional box that some are accustomed to. For many, this journey is a necessary rite of passage and a detour into the left-field area that Obey The Altar Native thrives in. If one judges this game by the title, they’ve already lost their quarter.

Obey The Altar Native presents: The Dragon Whisperer. An album about… well… not what you think.
