Today, rapidly rising Kansas City hip-hop disruptor SleazyWorld Go unleashes a raw new single and music video entitled “What You Need” featuring Skilla Baby out now via Island Records. Watch the video above. It only increases anticipation for the release of his anxiously awaited debut album, More Than A Shooter, executive produced by the RIAA Diamond-certified powerhouse, Turbo.
Crafted together while on Offset’s “Set It Off” tour, “What You Need” showcases a thick bassline that booms through icy 808s, locking into an infectious groove. Leaning into a bold and braggadocious flow, SleazyWorld Go drops lusty rhymes over this airy backdrop. It culminates on a catchy chorus as he promises to provide “What You Need.” Meanwhile, Skilla Baby counters with an irresistible cameo. The visual taps into this unfiltered and unbridled energy. Dozens of ladies take over a Waffle House in Atlanta late at night, leading to chaos, twerking, and an impromptu performance from SleazyWorld Go and Skilla Baby.
The single follows the momentum of “Who The Who’s” which has been gaining steam at DSPs and earned critical acclaim. HotNewHipHop applauded it as “high-octane,” going on to promise, “It sets the tone for the rest of the anxiously awaited project and serves as a promising preview.”
Igniting 2024, he notably kickstarted this sonic era with “WTW.” Beyond looks from HITS Daily Double, XXL, and more, HotNewHipHop proclaimed, “If this what the tape is going to sound like, we are all ears.” Meanwhile, he spent the spring on the road, opening up Offset’s “Set It Off” Tour.
It all paves the way for SleazyWorld Go to deliver his biggest and boldest statement to date with his debut album, More Than A Shooter this fall.
Breakout rapper SleazyWorld Go has earned a series of accolades. Last year, he was selected as a 2023 XXL Freshman; the first artist to represent both Kansas City, MO, and Grand Rapids, MI, on the prestigious magazine cover. Since then, he made an appearance at the 2023 BET Awards, released the anthemic “Don’t Get Your Feelings In It” featuring fellow XXL Freshman Luh Tyler, and has been in the studio working on his forthcoming debut album.
SleazyWorld Go’s hot streak began in 2019, following a personal transformation behind bars. The artist whose mom moved his family from Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Kansas City, Missouri, searching for a better life, wanted to move in a positive direction. Music was his method. In 2022 he took off, with “Sleazy Flow” introducing him to the masses (the song is 2x RIAA Certified Platinum), and leading to a remix featuring Lil Baby and a debut mixtape Where The Shooters Be that featured hip hop heavyweights Lil Baby, Offset, G Herbo, and more. In 2023, he expanded on WTSB with Where The Shooters Be 2, dropped “Off The Court” featuring Polo G, was announced by Spotify as an Artist To Watch in 2023, and iHeartRadio announced him as nominee for Best New Hip Hop Artist. With raw talent and proven superstar potential, it’s clear that in 2024 and beyond SleazyWorld Go’s list of accolades will only continue to grow.
