Diddy Charged With Sex Trafficking and Racketeering
Diddy has been taken into custody by federal authorities after a six-month investigation, facing serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering as outlined in a grand jury indictment.
On Tuesday (September 17), the U.S. District Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York revealed the details of Diddy‘s indictment. The 14-page document lists several serious allegations against the founder of Bad Boy Entertainment, including racketeering and sex trafficking through force, fraud, or coercion.
The indictment claims that Sean Combs, known as Diddy, engaged in a “in a persistent and pervasive pattern of abuse toward women and other individuals. The abuse was at times verbal, emotional, physical and sexual. As part of the pattern of abuse, Combs manipulated women to participate in highly orchestrated performances of sexual activity with male sex workers. At times, Combs and others acting at his direction, made arrangements for women and commercial sex workers to fly to his location.”
He faces accusations of physically assaulting women by hitting, punching, dragging, throwing objects at, and kicking them on multiple occasions, with incidents dating back to around 2009 and continuing for several years.
The indictment also mentions items seized during raids on Diddy‘s homes in Los Angeles and Miami back in March. “Law enforcement seized various Freak Off supplies including narcotics and more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant,” the indictment details.
Law enforcement also confiscated firearms and ammunition, including three AR-15s with altered serial numbers and drum magazines.
Diddy‘s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, spoke to the press outside a New York courtroom this morning, expressing his determination to “fight like hell” for Diddy‘s release.
“I spent the evening with [Diddy],” Agnifilo revealed. “His spirits are good, he’s confident. He’s dealing with this head-on like he’s dealt with every challenge in his life. And he’s not guilty, he’s innocent of these charges.”
Agnifilo mentioned that his client was anticipating the charges that came after the March raids. “This is what we’ve been expecting since the search in March,” the lawyer explained. “He’s going to plead not guilty, obviously, and he’s going to fight this with all of his energy and all of his might.”
Agnifilo believes Diddy should be set free. “I’m gonna fight like hell to get him released and he should be released,” he stated.
