G Herbo Recruits Chief Keef, Sexyy Red & More for “Big Swerv”
G Herbo is bringing some well-known names into the mix for his upcoming project, Big Swerv.
A recent profile in Rolling Stone shared some details about the project, including guest spots from Chief Keef, Sexyy Red, and Skilla Baby.
Keef, another Chicago native, is featured on a track called “No Pics,” while Sexyy and Skilla appear on “Ten” and “Shoot,” respectively.
The article also hints at a collaboration with 21 Savage titled “In the A,” but it’s still uncertain if it will make it onto Big Swerv.
The mixtape is set to drop on September 6 and is said to take G Herbo in a new direction, moving away from the heavier themes of his earlier works like PTSD and Survivor’s Remorse.
“Not everybody has been in the streets. And not everybody had to experience violence to the levels that I’ve experienced violence. I was always vulnerable and talked about it through my music,” he explained regarding his past projects.
“So I want to talk about having fun, I want to talk about traveling the world, and living life, and fashion, and stuff that everybody loves, that everybody can relate to.”
Herbo first teased Big Swerv earlier this month by sharing the cover art and a snippet of a new track on social media.
“YOU BOYS GOT FAT WHILE THE STREETS STARVED… BIG SWERV BACK[traffic lights emoji] #BIGSWERV #BIGSWERVOTW,” he wrote in the post.
He’s also started a vlog series on YouTube where he talks about his journey from the streets of Chicago to becoming a hip hop star, sharing the highs and lows he’s faced.
At 28, he had initially thought about naming the project Best Rapper Alive, as he mentioned in a February interview with TMZ.
When asked about his new veneers, G Herbo said, “I used to say I’d never get my teeth done, but I took a big step and changed my image. It really does something for you mentally; it makes you feel good about yourself.”
He mentioned: “I got new music comin’, man. New mixtape. It’s called Best Rapper Alive. I gave it to y’all first, TMZ.”
