Multi-platinum recording artist Maino returns with a brand new visual for “Vibe With Me.” For its release, the Lobby Boyz frontman partnered with YouTube to host a virtual AfterParty where he can engage with fans in real time. To break the news, Maino shared a teaser of his dance-ready hit online, which sees him standing tall in a dark room spotlit by his diamond encrusted necklaces.
“Vibe With Me” follows a tandem of releases from the New York giant, including the Jim Jones-assisted “Pressure” and guitar-laden “Best for Me” with fellow Brooklynite Fabolous. The Arizona Slim-produced smash invokes nostalgia while adding a modern twist to a classic sound and finds Maino interpolating Busta Rhymes’ 1997 seminal hit “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See.”
Last Thursday (April 20), Maino took centerstage during the Brooklyn Nets playoff game against the Philadelphia 76ers. For Game 3 of the series, the Brooklyn MC performed his Billboard Hot 100 hit “All The Above” and his newly released score. His performance left fans, players and everyone else at Barclays Center pumped up for the second half of the game, with hopes of the Nets securing a come-from-behind win – which they failed to produce. The crowd marveled at Maino’s showmanship as he lit up the court doing what he does best, rock the mic.
About Maino:
Jermaine Coleman, better known as Maino, is a platinum recording Hip Hop artist from Brooklyn, NY. He is best known for his debut hit single titled “Hi Hater” and “All The Above” feat. T-Pain became certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In addition, the Brooklyn rapper collectively sold over 4 million digital singles to date globally. Maino grew up in the once poverty-stricken area of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Unfortunately, both of his parents were addicted to illegal drugs. Living life as a youth with little support and guidance steered Maino in the wrong direction. While incarcerated in the 1990s, he spent time in the box for 23 hours a day, where he would rap to himself to keep himself from losing his mind. Surprisingly, he was able to master the gift of rapping without writing down the lyrics, which was the moment that saved his life. After Maino’s release from prison, he started his independent record label imprint Hustle Hard Entertainment. Then, after several mixtape releases with established guest features, he signed with Universal Records. The relationship with Universal would be short-lived but it would be the opportunity for a more focused Maino to utilize his relationships and savviness to land a deal with Atlantic records.
