Pharrell Williams Shares “Piece By Piece” LEGO Biopic Poster
Pharrell Williams‘ animated biopic Piece by Piece is hitting theaters on October 11. He dropped the poster for it on Thursday (August 29), showcasing LEGO versions of himself and some big names like Kendrick Lamar, N.O.R.E., and Snoop Dogg.
In the poster, Pharrell‘s LEGO character is rocking a pixelated camo suit, a nod to the outfit he wore at his first Louis Vuitton runway show for the spring 2024 menswear line. Kendrick‘s LEGO version features his famous crown of thorns made of titanium and diamonds, crafted by Tiffany & Co. for his 2022 project, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.
The artwork also includes appearances from Daft Punk and Gwen Stefani, who collaborated with Pharrell on hits like “Get Lucky” and “Can I Have It Like That.” Other artists set to join the fun in this project include Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Busta Rhymes, and director Morgan Neville.
Pharrell Williams expressed his excitement back in January, saying, “When I had this crazy vision to tell this story through LEGO bricks, I couldn’t have imagined a better partner than Morgan. Building with LEGO bricks encourages us to follow our imagination… Who would’ve thought that playing with these toys as a kid would evolve into a movie about my life? It’s proof that anyone else can do it, too.”
Peter Kujawski, Chairman of Focus Features, added, “In partnering with the inimitable Morgan Neville and the limitless creativity of the LEGO brand, his visionary spirit comes to life in a wholly unique and uplifting way that will inspire everyone to dance, to sing, and to use their voice to build the world they want to see brick by brick, and piece by piece.”
On top of this biopic, Pharrell is also involved in another animated project called Dullsville and the Doodleverse, set to release in 2024. He’s producing its soundtrack, which will feature artists like Coi Leray, Lil Wayne, Kyle Richh, Swae Lee, and Lil Yachty.
