‘Coming To America’ gets animated in this new aged cult-classic music video from Zaena x Jason Maek titled ‘Get To Work’. The video sparks the first song released from the music duo in over two years.
Directed by Jason Maek, ‘Get To Work’ puts a unique twist on the legendary movie from Eddie Murphy. Jason Maek dawns the role of Prince Akeem while Zaena takes on several of Eddie Murphy’s famed characters as she plays Sexual Chocolate and reenacts the infamous barbershop scene.
“I love remaking Coming To America for this song because sonically, “Get To Work” is classic and raw”, Zaena explains about the single. “Recreating this was awesome and I got to be three dudes. Can’t top that.”
The duo is set to release their second full-length collaborative album titled ‘Freshman’ in two separate volumes. The two seven-track albums have the support of several major brands and media outlets that include Rolling Stone, HipHopDX, DJ Mag, Subway, GrubHub, and Conair.
The video takes a path no other has gone before.“Either we were going to nail this or it was going to be a disaster. There was no middle ground”, says Jason Maek. “ I think we did a good job in paying homage while giving people a little nostalgia.”
