Bktherula feat. Destroy Lonely – Forever PT. 2 (Jezebel)
Atlanta rapper Bktherula links with fellow emerging ATL talent Destroy Lonely for the new single “Forever Pt. 2 (Jezebel).” Listen HERE via Warner Records. The buoyant track is accompanied by a cinematic video that finds the collaborators in combat—teams of color-coordinated women with heavy-duty water guns congregate in the woods for a playful battle. Watch it above.
“Forever Pt. 2 (Jezebel)” is the latest in a series of clever sequels to some of Bktherula’s previously released standouts. This one, a response to “Forever” from her celebrated 2020 mixtape Love Santana, follows last month’s thunderous new rendition of the 2021 heater “Through 2 U” featuring Ski Mask The Slump God. As with that overhaul, “Forever Pt. 2 (Jezebel)” captures the essence of the original while reinvigorating it with exciting new energy.
The new single continues its original theme, meditating on loyalty and longevity in romantic relationships. “And now we’re together forever, I know I say never say never,” she sings. But this time, the song’s melodic second act has a twist. Bk’s entrancing vocals and snappy, stream-of-consciousness bars bounce over an elastic beat, meeting up-and-comer Destroy Lonely’s equally nimble verse.
Along with the new version of “Through 2 U,” this track follows Bk’s re-emergence earlier this year with a velvety two-pack release “Coupe/Keep da K” — a gift to fans eagerly awaiting her follow-up to last year’s psychedelic and color-drenched Love Black album. She recently linked up with Rico Nasty on her single “Vaderz” after supporting Lil Tecca’s Tecca Loves You tour. Last weekend she had a stellar performance at Rolling Loud in Miami. With another undeniable track under her belt, Bktherula’s feathery rapping style and razor-sharp one-liners continue to cement her as one of rap’s most exciting and original young stars.
ABOUT BKTHERULA
In 2019, Bktherula broke out of Atlanta on her terms with a perfect combination of magnetic melodies and airtight bars. On the heels of the buzzworthy single “Tweakin’ Together,” she served up her 2020 independent debut, Love Santana. The project generated over one million streams as Fresh Fruit Only called it, “an immense 11 track project packed with more flows and styles than you could imagine.” Since signing to Warner Records, Bk ignited her next chapter with the release of her Nirvana mixtape and the critically-acclaimed debut album Love Black. The new music and tour are a reminder that the future remains bright for Bktherula.
