Originally released at the beginning of summer, “Safety” has quietly become a fan favorite addition to Leone’s already impressive discography. It joins the growing collection of infectious earworms that have become synonymous with his signature sound and rising presence as a singer-songwriter.
The multihyphenate enters this next chapter on the heels of a career-defining run, marked by the release of his critically acclaimed debut album, Invited; a No. 1 placement on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart as co-writer of J. Brown’s hit “True Love”; and a Top 20 showing of his own with “Over Under,” which was later remixed by R&B icon NE-YO. Along the way, Leone has been championed by some of the genre’s biggest names, including October London, Eric Benét, DJ Camper, Tamar Braxton and Ro James, among others.
