BigXthaPlug – Levels

Fast-rising rapper BigXthaPlug keeps his hot streak alive with a brand new visual. As a standout track from X’s critically-acclaimed debut project, “Levels” sees the Texas upstart offloading flex-heavy bars over a soul-sampling instrumental.

In the video, X decides to call it quits on his current occupation. Trading in his job at the local chicken spot for a coveted, high-paying gig as a rapper, the Amar composer hangs up his apron for the final time and decides to upgrade his lifestyle. With hard-hitting lyrics at his disposal, X leans into a conversational flow to give a fresh perspective on his growth and maturation.

This year, the XXL Freshman contender has unquestionably lived up to the hype. His debut album, Amar, garnered support from media outlets like Pitchfork, Stereogum, HotNewHipHop, HipHopDX, Revolt, and The Source to name a few. On top of all this, X also worked himself into SPIN Magazine’s 15 Artists To Watch In 2023 conversation.

After tearing down the stage as support on Key Glock’s 2023 Glockoma Tour, X continued to apply pressure with a well-documented run at SXSW. From debuting at No. 4 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums Chart to having another video (“Dream”) amass over one million views on YouTube, BigXthaPlug is a promising prospect to watch this year.
