Julian – a rising rapper/producer from Detroit, MI – has announced the release of his debut single, “Got It On Your Own.” The track, featuring Jeremih, is a slinky single that showcases the young 21-year old’s production prowess and raw lyricism.
Going into the inspiration behind the single Julian says that “It’s about a girl I used to date, who lost herself in her problems – emotionally and mentally. “She was trying to always fit in and compete with her female friends and all I wanted to do was empower her and let her know that she doesn’t have to worry about what other people think, that she’s got it!” And speaking on his collaboration with Jeremih, he explains that “I just knew Jeremih would be able to bring that softer, R&B element to it which I was drawn to having on the song.”
