Presenting his most cohesive artistic statement yet, Grammy-nominated, producer, songwriter, actor, and co-founder of Da Internz KOSINE releases his anxiously awaited project Truth Serum A Film EP. The accompanying film begins streaming on May 12.
Representing the culmination of a seven-year creative journey, KOSINE recruited an A-list entourage of collaborators to bring his album to life, including Idris Elba, Jeremih, Leon Thomas, Marsha Ambrosius, and Diane Warren, to name a few. Delivering a thought-provoking, yet nostalgic message throughout the project, each song’s message stitches together a triumphant and powerful narrative of the Chicago native’s own ups, downs, and everything in between. By sharing his journey, lessons, and truth without filter, he doses the culture with much-needed Truth Serum once and for all.
Earlier this year, he teamed up with Jeremih to unveil “Transparency.” Right out of the gate, it received critical acclaim from Complex, HotNewHipHop, and more, while tallying over half a million total streams to date. Watch the official music video HERE. Meanwhile, he also lit the studio up with a live performance of his latest single “Settle” [feat. Leon Thomas].
Of his debut project, Kosine stated, “If my mama could see me now…Pearl’s Son is dropping his debut project!! Truth Serum is my coming of age story as an Afro-Latino man navigating these treacherous waters minus any real childhood friends or family. Today my heart is full and I’m grateful for the healing that comes through sharing your testimony.“
The EP also boasts the original “Kings,” which resonated around the globe as a worldwide phenomenon. It notably captured #1 on the Spotify US Viral 50 and #1 on the Global Viral Chart. It has also amassed 3 million worldwide streams and counting.
“Kings” continued Kosine’s commitment to uplift the culture at every turn. He fearlessly confronts injustices in the community and endeavors to ultimately right these wrongs via his art, philanthropy, and outreach. Fittingly, this remix arrived in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. As such, the hashtag #KingsDay takes on a much deeper meaning as it pays homage to the legacy of the Civil Rights leader. Kosine will never stop fighting for equality and equity.
Take some Truth Serum now.
