Lil Baby Arrested in Las Vegas for Possessing Illegal Weapon
On Monday (August 26), Lil Baby found himself in police custody in Las Vegas for allegedly having a concealed weapon without the proper permit. The Atlanta rapper, whose real name is Dominique Armani Jones, was taken to the Clark County Detention Center, where his bail was set at $5,000.
Details about the situation are still coming to light, but Lil Baby‘s lawyers, Drew Findling and David Chesnoff, reached out to TMZ to clarify things. “To be clear, Dominique Jones has a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon Permit. On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas,” they stated.
Interestingly, Lil Baby was at James Harden‘s 35th birthday bash at Drai’s Las Vegas on the same day. Other stars like Chris Brown, Kevin Durant, Michael Rubin, and Travis Scott were also there.
This isn’t Lil Baby‘s first brush with the law. Back during Paris Fashion Week in 2021, he, his bodyguard, and Harden were stopped by police because of the smell of marijuana coming from their vehicle. Lil Baby was briefly detained on drug transport suspicions but was released the next morning after paying some fines, as confirmed by the prosecutor’s office.
Right now, Lil Baby is wrapping up his next project. He mentioned on August 24 that it’s about 80 percent done, but he hasn’t shared any details about a release date or a teaser single.
His last album, 2022’s It’s Only Me, was well-received by fans and featured tracks like “Forever” with Fridayy, “In A Minute,” and “Heyy.” It also included collaborations with artists like Nardo Wick, Young Thug, Future, Rylo Rodriguez, Jeremih, Pooh Shiesty, and EST Gee, and it hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Since then, Lil Baby has released songs like “Crazy” and “350,” the latter of which included some lines that fans interpreted as shots at Gunna.
